Asking for help
During the quarantine, I decided to rewatch the Harry Potter movie series. There’s something so comforting about old and familiar content that you know and love (yes the books would have been better but damn my to-read list is really long and does not support snacking).
One line that resonated with me again is when Dumbledore says help at Hogwarts will always be given to those who ask.
Then I thought of how nice it would be to be at Hogwarts where you can get help (like a Phoenix with presents) when you ask. Luckily, I remembered it’s true for our normal muggle world too. Usually, those who ask for help get help.
If you’re feeling lonely or in need in any way, it might be helpful to ask for what you need from someone who can help.
My grandmother once gave me a secondhand copy of The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran for Christmas. I’ve found so much solace in it and I hope this quote will warm your heart too:
Your friend is your needs answered.Kahlil Gibran on Friendship
He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving.
And he is your board and your fireside.
For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace.
